AKA: friends with cameras.

Meet Garrett Cornelison. Again. When he rolled in with the 'why we rescue' crew of Theron Humphrey and maddie the coonhound recently, he captured some sweet little moments of Charlie.

This type of bartering rooms-for-art is what we are all about. Our door is always open to ya'll!

... To announce the launch of their new Fall line.

Holy *($#%!... do we love this.

Somehow, when talented designers, filmmakers, photographers like these folks-
come to visit, they see this place through an entirely new lens.

David & I (as the default caregivers of this communal space we call home)
sometimes fall victim to focusing on our reality of just keeping the roof up.

Days and evening spent trenching out broken water pipes,
swapping out rotting landscaping timbers, repairing ripped screens,
fixing geriatric bed frames with duct tape and prayer..... it's akin to painting the golden gate bridge.
We simply will never be able to stay on top of it.
And because of that,
we forget to embrace the beauty of why folks come here to begin with.
It's not about the run down buildings- its about sucking up as much sunshine as you can in this short life and spending time together.
So, thanks guys for reminding us of that.

We far prefer to embrace your perspective of optimism & leisure time-
the best possible lens to see this place through.

Our dear friend Nathan Michael posted this recently on his instagram feed:

"Last week someone hacked & closed my Instagram account. They tried to rob me of the community I share with each of you. After 5 days of silence, I truly believed it would all be gone. During that time I was reminded what the Instagram community is really about: Us. The stories we share. The way we capture life & preserve special memories. The new life long friendships we create by being intentional to connect with others. The support we give our communities at whole. They could have deleted my account, but they can never steal that. You can't steal a person's voice. You can't steal someone's perspective. And you can't steal someone's joy & passion for life. Big thanks to@Instagram for recovering my account & the many of you who made me laugh & smile during the last few days. Nothing but love for all of you. Lets keep the memories coming."

It's all so true, I wanted to share this with you. This is a big deal coming from someone who has over 50,000 followers. Nathan is a photographer, designer and collaborator--- so much of his connectivity to his clients and audience comes from his feed.

The hacker who did this knew this well, and wanted to shut him down-  but thankfully was unsuccessful. What Nathan says about community and passion for life rings true.

Thanks Nathan for sharing your photographic perspective with us!
So glad we get to keep following you.

NATHAN MICHAEL IS THE CREATOR OF THE TASTY NUGGET EVENT-
HELD AT CAMP THIS YEAR.
AND ALTHOUGH THE HACKER SHUT HIS FEED OFF MID-EVENT, HE HAS BEEN POSTING SOME OF HIS IMAGES SINCE HE WENT BACK LIVE. LOVELY!

...Is Michael Kiser.

The dude has a gift.
Check out this excerpt from his latest 'collaboration post' on Ronan Anderson's visit here to camp:

"Enter the fire department. A bit lost in conversation, and a bit heady from the brews, none of us noticed the bit of smoke rolling off the steaks and into the lodge. A few failed attempts at entering the cancel code and we had guests. Hungry guests. In his apologies for tying up some of Elkhorn, Wisconsin's finest, Rohan passed around a few plates and made some new friends. They returned from their trucks with beef jerky and sausages to accompany the rest of his trip eastward. These were kindred spirits. This is American pastoral. And there's nothing cynical about it."

And (he's a pretty bad ass photographer to boot)!
Some of my favs:

Sometimes you meet a talent that just blows your mind
and our minds have been sufficiently blown.

May we (re)present to you the talented mr. oneal:

Otherwise introduced to us as MO.

Some choice selects from his recent visit with us at Camp.

(Michael- thanks for sharing your perspective with us!)

And some shots of our friends that he took outside of the campground:

My favorite time of year.
The most inspiring time of year.
Coming together with friend and creatives, old and new-
to make art, cook and hang out.

Nobody could document the weekend better than Bob Coscarelli.
