she lived in a log cabin in "Surratt Holler" (just 10 min south of my hometown- Beardstown, Illinois).

yes, I said 'holler'. not even 'hollow' - not that I know what a hollow even would be.

they lived off the land in the most honest way, making everything from their own homes to maple syrup. (and, from what Ive been told- corncob pipes.)
