Two banjo players tie the knot at camp.

Our lovely friends Kelly Marie (of Fleur & Foxtail)

and Dave (of the maproom)

got hitched a few weeks ago at camp.

Some of the design details that Kelly pulled off were---

there are no words--

other than freaking amazing.

Can't wait to share them!

But we'll have to wait.

So we don't spoil the full story (coming soon to some amazing wedding mag or blog soon)....

We're just sharing the shots already out & about on the web.

today: went shopping for a banjo

Yup.

Never thought we’d be doing this.

But the Wandawega ‘house band’ is essentially just whoever shows up and picks up an instrument.

So far, we've got the house piano, house guitar, bongos, trumpet, sticks, cow bell, tambourine, harmonica's and a slew of random instruments that we don't even know what to call, but folks like to pick up and make music with...

So - when we got a gift certificate from our friends Kelly (of Fleur!) and Dave, 

it was the perfect opportunity to add a banjo to the collection.

They both had played up at camp a couple of times, and are a helluvalot better than we will ever hope to be.

The highlight of today’s buying trip was were it came from:

Old Town School of Folk Music.

This was David's childhood library. He hadn't set foot in the place since he was 10.

Autumn Craft Caaaaamp!

a few weeks ago,

our friend Kelly from the gorgeous floral & gift boutique Fleur.

co-hosted a sweet little Fall gathering at camp.

It included:

* chef Christine Busby of Busby bakes doing a workshop on how to make focaccia

* jewery designer Emily Monroe hosted a workshop on making necklaces,

and Kelly teaching a class on wreath making.

and her amazing recipe for the egg bake she made:

START WITH:

Butter for greasing the dish, 10 eggs, 1 cup whole milk, some salt and pepper, 5 oz of grated swiss cheese, 10 oz chopped, crimini mushrooms, 1 chopped sweet potato, 1 sliced shallot and 3 tablespoons olive oil.

THEN:

Preheat your oven to 450, and butter a shallow basking dish (about 2 quarts).  Whisk the eggs and milk, along with S & P (to your taste).  Then add in the cheese and whisk a little more.  Bake in the upper 1/3 of the oven until golden.  The recipe I read claims for 20 min, but it took about 40 min.

Meanwhile toss all the other ingredients and spread evenly in a pan.  Bake in the lower half of the oven for 20-30 minutes.  Stir a few times, too. Serve with those veggies on top.
