After a 5 year search, we fiiiinnnaaally found a source for some original, vintage, Boyscouts of American canvas camping cabins. (a fancy description of tents with wooden platform foundations)

Indian Trails BSA village (outside of Janesville, WI) proved to be a great source.

we hooked up the trailer and hit the road. it was fall & the groundskeeper had taken down all the tents, packed up the cabins, and prepped the grounds to put the campground to rest for the winter months. (shown here are a few shots from their storage facilities and abandoned cabins).

behold.
an enormous stack of not just the 5x5 wooden platforms, but the original vintage WW metal bunk frames, mattresses, even the tent poles for (perfectly weathered olive) canvas tents themselves.

we scored:

3 tents: $20 each
9 platforms: $5 each
6 antique stackage bunks: $5 each
ERECTING YOUR VERY OWN BOYSCOUT TENT VILLAGE: PRICELESS.

all we had to do was load it up and haul it away.
(and then, of course- build the stabilizing structure that anchored them down to their platforms and then hunt down all vintage BSA bedding, trunks, books, lanterns, canteens, folding chairs, etc. to fill it..)
